We have revamped our qualification process for the World Dance Finals competition, aiming for a more inclusive and dynamic competition experience.

Key Updates:

• Guaranteed World of Dance Finals Qualification: The top 3 teams from Studio Team, Junior Team, and Team Division will automatically qualify for Finals, regardless of their score at qualifying events. This ensures strong representation from each division.
• Wild Card Opportunities: A "bell curve" system is introduced for Wild Card invites in these three divisions. Teams with scores exceeding 90 within the bell curve will also receive a Finals invite.
• Expanded Eligibility: Teams of 5 or more members from additional approved divisions e.g. Heels, Latin, K-Pop etc, might be considered for wild cards, with the possibility of being placed in a more suitable existing division (Studio Team, Junior Team, or Team) at WOD's discretion.
• Exhibition Performances: All other competing and showcase teams with 5 or more members will have the chance to showcase their talents in the exhibition category( limited spots available ).
• Extended Invite Validity: WOD Finals invites will now be valid for two years, providing teams with more time to manage travel logistics and financial commitments.

Rationale Behind the Updates & How it Benefits Your Team 

This revised process tackles several concerns:

• Travel and Funding Considerations: Some teams require additional time to secure visas or funding for international travel.
• Ensuring Strong Representation: Even if the top 3 teams from a qualifying event can't attend the Finals in that specific year, other strong teams from the same event deserve a chance to compete at the Finals.
• Highlighting Talent Beyond Standard Divisions: The new system acknowledges and encourages excellent teams performing in divisions outside the traditional categories.
