The soloists, duos, and crews will be judged by specialists and dance enthusiasts: Edyta Herbuś, Michał Malitowski and Rafał "Roofi" Kamiński. The show will be hosted by Olga Kalicka and Karol Niecikowski. The Polish edition of the show will be the first in Europe and the second in the world. World of Dance is not another talent show, but a spectacular show that does up the way of expressing the art of dancing.
"I felt the passion to dancing from the first castings, while watching participants from all over the world who had come here to showcase their talent and join the competition. The rivalry, however, often happened to be unfair. It took place, for instance, between people of different age or dancers of completely divers styles. Then, with the level of their performances, which convicted that they hadn't come here by the accident, they proved that dance takes every moment of their lives. It was especially apparent in the emotions expressed on the stage. These people would do anything for dance!" says Judge Michał Malitowski.
In World of Dance Poland, viewers will be able to experience unlimited range of dance styles—from classical ballroom to hip hop, breakdance to jazz, or street dance to contemporary. Nearly 60 participants, including dancers from the Netherlands, Italy, Hungary, and Russia, will be divided into three divisions: Junior, Adult and Groups.
"What surprised me is that the show attracts so many participants from different countries. But, on the other hand, it's no wonder the prestige of taking part in the "World of Dance" and the prize for the winner can encourage everyone. It might be the reason for the world-class level we achieve, yet some of them reach a master level," explains Rafał "Roofi" Kamiński.
World of Dance Poland is also a modern and dynamic way to present dance, that's never been shown on Polish television. The show will be set in a television studio with audience participation. Dancers' movements performed on the special round stage will be followed by several cameras, including the bird's eye camera giving viewers a unique view from above. Viewers will be able to watch performances from a variety of perspectives to ensure they don't miss a single detail. The dancers will be judged by true enthusiasts and dance specialists: Edyta Herbuś, Michał Malitowski, and Rafał "Roofi" Kamiński. Every one of them will score the participants using the following criteria: performance, technique, choreography, presentation and creativity.
"Honest and empathetic. Honest with the rules of dance at the highest level and honest with attitudes and skills of the participants. Empathetic, because for me myself, the dance has been something that inspired me to act and set the path for me. In my opinion, the jurors' role is to appreciate work, dance skills and to share advice, knowledge and experience. I wish that meeting with us made every participant come back to their trainings richer and motivated. I also wish that "our" dancers would feel appreciated and inspired, and those, who didn't decide to take part in this edition, would feel encouraged to participate in the next one,” says Edyta Herbuś.
Following a similar structure to the U.S. show, the show will begin with four episodes The Qualifiers. Then, three rounds of fierce The Duels. Afterwards, we will have two live semi-finals and the finale where the six of the best contestants will compete for the final $100,000 prize.
