‘World of Dance Master Class with Derek Hough’ Brings Viewers to Their Feet
“World of Dance Master Class with Derek Hough” is giving fans of NBC World of Dance a chance to join the movement and enhance their dance skills with exclusive online access to Derek Hough, a two-time Emmy Award-winning choreographer and one of the most acclaimed dancers in the world. For the first time ever, participants all over the world will be able to learn fundamental steps, combinations, and advanced choreography in an accessible way, receiving lessons and technical insight from one of the masters of the craft.

Hough, a judge on World of Dance, Latin ballroom expert and World Champion dancer, has created a format for participants of all dance levels who have a passion for dancing and share a desire to learn from the best.
Hough will take participants on an in-depth journey through some of the most popular dance styles. The first four classes of the series feature: Cha Cha, Jive, Contemporary and Urban Dance, taking students from basic steps to more complex combinations. Classes also include technical insights and life lessons from Hough on things such as posture, body mechanics and creative emotion that go beyond dance.
Each class series includes four major components:
- STEPS – Introductory moves that make up the foundation of each style and can be performed by anyone.
- SEQUENCES – These pieces combine several steps together and increase in difficulty as the class progresses. From beginners to pros there is something for everyone!
- TECHNICAL INSIGHTS – Derek dives into the philosophy of each style and gives key insight into what makes a good dancer great, as well as lessons that transcend dance and help guide you to a more present connected way of life.
