WOD Philippines 2018 was Just as Epic as You’d Expect

As the World of Dance competition tour continues to travel around the world, the performers and people involved never cease to amaze us. We recently had an event in Manila (the 4th time we’ve had one there!), and we caught up with event organizers to give us all the inside scoop into WOD Philippines 2018. According to the event producer, Vimi Rivera, “World of Dance Manila is always a great time to celebrate Filipino talent. Different backgrounds in the society, all sharing the same stage showcasing their love for dance!” “WODPH18 Manila was amazing. This year the crews got bigger and the competition leveled up,” said event host Jan Patrick Fortich. “There is an amazing mix of local crews from the Manila area and Crews from different parts of the Philippines representing their provinces and towns.”

Here’s the breakdown of event winners:

TEAM DIVISION

1st Place & Best in Show: Nitrous Image Crew
2nd Place: Histacity Mega Family
3rd Place: Power Impact Dancers
Crowd Favorite: Nitrous Image Crew
Best in Theme: Novel Crime
Best in Costume: Real X Tyle

“The best performance of the night for me had to be from Nitrous Image Crew, who won this year's team division and best in show,” added Jan. “Their energy and execution was on point. They had me jumping up and down backstage during their performance. Another highlight of this years WODPH were the solo performances of Just Jet and Sienna Lalau. Jet bought the control and attention to detail during his performance. While Sienna's energy had the crowd in awe. WODPH welcomed them with open arms and showed them love.”
