Last night’s episode of NBC World of Dance marked the last episode of the Duels. These head-to-head battles have been intense. We’ve seen some of the highest scoring acts eliminated by less than a point. As celebrity judge Derek Hough said, “the duels bring out the best; in competition when you’re competing against somebody it just gets you down deep.” “It brings out the animal in people,” added Jennifer Lopez. Victoria Caban Victoria Caban came to the stage to show her power, grace, and fierce love for Flamenco. Her performance was an incredible show of her technique and beautiful lines. S-Rank S-Rank came to the stage ready for a battle, and it showed in every moment of their performance. They executed Melvin Timtim’s stellar choreography flawlessly. Their performance had amazing choreography, fun burns, and tons of energy. Josh & TaylorThis powerful performance was full of emotion paired with the technique and intricacies we’ve come to expect from Josh & Taylor. DNAAfter being cut last season in the Duels due to a minor misstep, DNA came to this stage of the competition more than ready. Ashley and Zach Heartfelt, and meaningful this piece was anything but easy. They made the complex and incredibly athletic lifts look effortless. EmbodimentEmbodiment is was aiming for an emotional representation of choreographer and dancer Rudy Abrue’s father’s recent heart surgeries and how it affected him.
