Eva Igo
As a typical sixteen-year-old girl, Eva Igo grew up in St. Paul, Minnesota with her parents Dawn and Pat Igo and siblings Kayla and Sean. She danced her first solo performance at the age of five and won regional and national titles at the age of seven with the Larkin Dance Studio.https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=tgGpU96EG7IBefore stepping in front of the camera, she featured in an episode of the hit reality television dance show Dance Moms, where she recorded a higher score than Dance Moms star Maddie Ziegler. Since Igo’s victory against the Abby Lee Dance Company, an article from Famous Birthdays says that she has performed in other dance competitions and has won as a jazz, contemporary and improv soloist weeks later. In 2017, Igo received a perfect score with her solo “River” at the Hall of Fame Dance Challenge in her hometown, making her the first solo dancer to earn a perfect score in over twelve years, according to Fandom.https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=7KmP1RwN7doMonths later, Igo was confident and was ready to become a contestant on the first season of NBC’s World of Dance. Competing against the most talented dancers in the world, Igo managed to steal the fans and judges’ hearts and came in first in the Junior Division, but was the runner-up overall. Igo didn’t make it as far as she had hoped this past season, yet she used that as a lesson to become better than she was before.Igo continues to amaze her fans with all of her accomplishments. Months after season two of World of Dance, sources from Fandom mentions that Igo won the 2018 Industry Dance Awards for Most Fierce Dancer Under 18. She was nominated in the same category as Charlize Glass, JT Church, Sean Lew, and Kaycee Rice. Additionally, Igo was also nominated for a People’s Choice Award for Most Popular Person in the US regarding Gallup Institute for the Competition Contestant of 2018 category in November.
