WOD: Can you give us a little background about the crew? How long have you been together/how did you meet?
Evolvers: The Evolvers crew was formed in 2007 and it consisted of male dancers and the only female dancer—Julia. All of them were freestyle dancers. Later she set up auditions for female dancers and it led to formation of a female part of the crew, which dealt with making performances.
WOD: What are you feeling going the Championships?
Evolvers: We are so happy and exited to have one more chance to be on stage of one of the best dance championship in the world and share our dance vision with people and top judges.
WOD: What is your favorite part of competing in World of Dance?
Evolvers: Of course, stage day is the most important and responsible event for us. But we are also looking forward to other parts of the competition, for example, World of Dance picnic, because we will be able to meet new friends and connect with other dancers there.
WOD: What part of your dance, choreography, or performance are you most proud of?
Evolvers: We are really proud of our showcase HUMAN. We have won a lot of competitions with this show around the world and also took the third place in the final of World of Dance in 2016 in upper division with a minimum number of participants allowed.
WOD: What exciting things will you be doing/focusing on in the next year?
Evolvers: We are focused on promoting our performances in various cities and countries. We have experimental piece "Reflexion", one of the dream we have is to make a tour with it around the world. And one of the biggest dream for us it is to be a part of World of Dance TV SHOW. This show is a great chance for us to show the world individuality and diversity in our choreography and performances.
WOD: Why do you think dance is important to the world?
Evolvers: The dance changes people's destiny. It liberates, gives confidence, unites. Through dance we can talk with audience about our feelings, convey our thoughts and be understood.
WOD: What’s your favorite part about being a crew?
Evolvers: The team is the second family. We support each other, share difficult moments and moments of joy. It is valuable to have both: people united by a common goal and also best friends as one whole harmonious body.
