How Andrea Astuto Prepared Styles & Emma for Competition on 'World of Dance'
Andrea Astuto is the choreographer for Styles & Emma on Season 4 of World of Dance. She is also the Assistant Artistic Director, Contemporary Director at Odasz Dance Theatre and Western Ballet. Andrea received the 'Outstanding Choreographer Award' at Youth America Grand Prix Chicago semi-finals in 2015, 2016, 2018, 2019 and 2020, but preparing for the NBC show was a whole different ballgame.Emma VanDeWater and Styles Dykes wanted to prove that ballet is anything but boring, so Astuto came prepared with three routines for them. By the time The Duels rolled around their second routine looked completely different than the pas de deux they had originally rehearsed. Astuto took the judges' comments from The Qualifiers, and the suggestions from the supervising choreographers behind the scenes, to make their numbers more competitive. It was the ultimate team effort to showcase the best in contemporary ballet.Catch the World of Dance Aftershow, brought to you LIVE by World of Dance Studios, every Tuesday at 8 p.m. Pacific (following the NBC World of DanceEast Coast airing):World of Dance Studios YouTubeWorld of Dance U-Jam FacebookJoin WORLD OF DANCE for the summer's hottest 6-week online dance party!
