Exclusive Q&A With NBC World of Dance's Julian and Charlize

WOD: How did it feel when you found out you’d be on Season 3?
J: To be asked to be on Season 3 of World Of Dance was a dream come true! I’ve beenso inspired watching the previous two seasons and I always wanted the opportunity tobe on it.C: It’s feels really good to get the message saying “Welcome to Season 3 Worldof Dance” and I couldn’t believe it was actually going to happen!! We’re just so happy to showthe world what we love to do.
WOD: What style are you performing, and why?
J: Hip Hop because that’s what we do best!
WOD: How long have you been dancing, or dancing with your group?
J: Charlize and I began as great friends and started working together for the show in the summer of 2018.C: I’ve been dancing since age 2. As a group we have been dancing for thepast year but we’ve known each other since age 10.
WOD: Where do you draw inspiration from? Who/what inspires you?
J: I draw inspiration from the hip-hop culture and danceindustry.C: People that are humble and talented are people that remind me to stay true tomyself.
WOD: Why do you think dance is important to the world?
J: I think dance is important to the world because it brings such joy to people that do it. Every move has a story and history.C: Dance is more than just dance.! It’s a way to speak without words and movement can make the world feel something they never knew existed.
WOD: What are you most excited/nervous about being on the show?
J: I’m most excited about being in front of the amazing judges and having the opportunity to showcase my choreography with Charlize. I’m also very nervous because I have never done anything like this and there’s lots of pressure on me.C: I am really excited to show the world how we are able to finally show our work together as a team. It was a challenge being so young and also choreographing our own pieces, but we made it happen!! I am so grateful that we were able to accomplish so much and I have grown so much as choreographer.
WOD: Do you have a signature move/trick?
J: Our signature move would probably be the “woah”, which is featured in alot of our performances.
WOD: What sets you apart from the competition?
J: What sets Charlize and I apart from the competition is our experience inthe dance industry- although everyone in the competition is extremely talentedand gifted.C: I think what sets us apart from others is our experience. We both have accomplished so much already.
