A Look at D-Trix’s World of Dance Career
If you’re a World of Dance fan, you’re most likely familiar with D-Trix (Dominic Sandoval). He’s been a huge supporter of the World of Dance brand from inception, and his career has taken him to some pretty amazing places. From appearing on our very first event flyer, to choreographing for NBC World of Dance season 2 winners The Lab, check out some of his career highlights below.
2007: Competes on So You Think You Can Dance season 32008: Appears on first World of Dance flyer (2010 flier shown here)World of Dance was founded 10 years ago with the mission to change the world through artistry and motion. Not only was D-Trix part of this event, his work within dance had actually inspired us, to choose him to be one of the communities leading personalities represented our flier. 2009: Quest Crew competes on America’s Best Dance Crew season 3 As part of Quest Crew, D-Trix competed on season 3 of America’s Best Dance Crew, ultimately winning the competition. 2010: Becomes one of the first YouTube dance influencers While YouTube was to become a popular resource for a wide range of videos, we credit D-Trix as one of the of first dance influencers on the platform, paving the way for the dance culture we see on the site today (check out one of his first videos below). He also appeared in DanceTag, full gallery later in the post. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=nq8Ioq9pl5o2011: Joins America’s Best Dance Crew as season 6 judge After competing with Quest Crew on the show, D-Trix was asked to judge season 6 of the show. His depth and knowledge of dance, connected with his representation of the community, helped solidify ABDC as the premiere televised dance competition on MTV.2014: Quest Crew Competes on America’s Best Dance Crew Season 8 (All Star Season)Season 8 featured: Super Cr3w, Quest Crew, We Are Heroes, I.aM.mE, Elektrolytes, and Kinjaz (which is made up of people from Jabbawokeez, Kaba Modern, Poreotics, and Mos Wanted Crew). In today’s world of what seems like an infinite amount of “influencers” we’re want to make sure we give credit, where credit is due. We’re excited to see what lies ahead, and hope to continue working with D-Trix in many years to come.
