What has life been like since appearing on NBC’s World of Dance?
Crazy doesn't do justice to explaining how being on World of Dance has changed our lives. The amount of fans we have been able to interact with around the world, and the opportunities we have come across since being on the show, has been more than we ever could have expected. Most recently, we have just completed directing, dancing, and choreographing a video in collaboration with Disney and Universal Music for the soundtrack from Aladdin for the song “Speechless”.
What have been some of the biggest changes/opportunities that have happened?
After NBC WOD we have been able to combine our media background and storytelling choreography to work on numerous Concept and Music Videos with record labels such as Warner Brothers Music and Universal Music Studios. We truly enjoyed working with platinum recording artist Lukas Graham on a Dance Concept Video, as well as working alongside Juno and the award winning James Barker Band on their Official Music Video. We were also able to bring Jenalyn, and her whole family, back to her home country for the very first time when we competed on World of Dance Philippines. It was an amazing experience to be on an international TV show for such a long period of time. We were able to build a deep connection with the Filipino people, culture, and community that exceeded all our expectations. After winning our Division and becoming Finale runners up, the support we received from that ENORMOUS community blew us away. Luka & Jenalyn became the top three trend WORLDWIDE on twitter after we received a perfect score of 100 for our final performance in the Grand Finale. The Philippines feels like a second home to us and it will always stay that way.
What is your best memory being on the show?
The show allowed us to meet so many incredible dancers like Les Twins, Keone and Mari, Jabawokeez, Sup3r Crew and Fikshun. The bond that we were able to create is something we will cherish and remember forever.Jennifer Lopez giving us a Standing Ovation after our “Don’t Let Me Down” performance was also a moment we will never forget.
Would you ever consider competing on NBC’s World of Dance again?
If the opportunity comes we would most definitely want to be part of the show again! However, this time we would want to work behind the scenes as mentors and be involved in the creative process to bring the show to life. Nappytabs- call us anytime.
